Situated a stone's throw (less than 150m) away from Magnatubes (the perfect surf launching spot for Boneyards and Point Beach), and a mere 900m from Supertubes (the home of the annual ASP Billabong Pro Series), Hard Rock Backpackers is in the perfect location for both surfers, party animals and holiday-makers alike. Besides being located within 300m of all practical conveniences (eg. restaurants, fast-food outlets, coffee shops, pubs, doctors, dentists, pharmacies, cafe's & supermarkets), you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a very impressive tattoo parlour, music academy, music and sound equipment store and surfing gear shops to pick and choose from, in the same vicinity... not forgetting to mention that we are neighbours to an affiliate International English Language School - Blue Ocean Language School.

At Hard Rock Hostels... you really are spoilt with choice!

All our beds are ready and made up with clean, crisp bedding (you'll never find old, smelly blankets that make you itch at Hard Rock Backpackers- only clean, fluffy duvets). Camping is excluded from this statement though - and we would suggest that if you'll be camping by us for the night... or nights... that you not only bring a sleeping bag, but extra weather appropriate bedding - since the evenings here in summer are sometimes swelteringly hot... and some evenings during winter can be incredibly cold... especially in a tent! 

Are you travelling in a group of 4 people, and would really appreciate your own space? Not a problem! We have 4 sleeper Dormitories (2 x double bunks) with en-suite bathrooms... how convenient is that?

Are you maybe travelling alone, but you're tired of feeling like you've been shoved into a sardine can with a bunch of strangers? No problem. Our biggest Dorm is only a 6 sleeper (3 x double bunks)!

For the travelling businessman... or the hopeless romantics... we have Double bedrooms (each room with it's own incredibly comfortable double bed) with en-suite bathrooms. Absolutely private, and soundproof (you won't find any cheap, thin pre-fab walls here!). Perfect for a quiet get-away!

Then there are those who either travel alone, or with friends... but would prefer not to share a dorm with a group of strangers... or pay the rates for Double bedrooms - our Twin rooms (or Single rooms if you will be staying on your own) are the perfect solution for them (each Twin room has only 2 single beds in it)!

The Garden Cabins are small, private, wooden huts situated outside, and sheltered by the shade of an ancient Milkwood tree (...it's apparently more than 500 years old!). Bask in the tranquility of these cabins... spend your mornings trying to name the birds you hear outside going about their daily business... and spend the evenings hearing the ocean sounds when the breeze is blowing in the right direction. Pure bliss!

As for Camping... you couldn't have picked a better spot! Situated in our creative and funky garden, you'll have more shelter from the wind than any other camping spot in J.Bay. It's the perfect location for a group of friends to chill... or party the night away... conveniently alongside our crazy themed bar which is ready for action... and parties...  at any given time!
